Legrand simplifies high-performance data centre infrastructure with modular Linkeo data centre solutions

As organisations continue to expand their digital infrastructure, the physical environment supporting servers and networking equipment has become just as important as the IT hardware itself. Efficient cable management, reliable airflow, structural integrity and scalable design all play a critical role in maintaining data centre performance and availability.

Legrand’s Linkeo Data Center range has been developed to address these requirements through an integrated portfolio of server cabinets and corridor containment solutions designed for modern data centre environments.

The Linkeo Data Center system combines heavy-duty 19-inch server cabinets with modular hot- and cold-aisle containment components, enabling data centre designers and installers to configure infrastructure that meets the operational, cooling and cable management requirements of each installation.

Legrand’s Linkeo server cabinet range is available in 42U and 47U heights, with widths of 600 mm or 800 mm and depths of 1000 mm or 1200 mm. Cabinets can be supplied as complete assembled units or configured from individual frames, doors, side panels and accessories to suit specific project requirements.

A key design feature is the cabinet’s heavy-duty static structure, combined with four adjustable 19-inch mounting profiles, that can be repositioned to accommodate different equipment layouts. The cabinets are rated for a load capacity of up to 1500 kg and include multiple cable entry points at both the top and bottom to simplify structured cabling installation.

Thermal management is another important consideration in Legrand’s data centre design. Linkeo cabinets incorporate front and rear doors with 80% perforation, ensuring efficient airflow through the equipment. Optional fan modules with integrated thermostat control can be added where additional ventilation is required.

Legrand design specialists have also given cable management considerable attention. The Linkeo range offers vertical patch cord managers, cable trays, brushed cable entry systems and dedicated cable separators to organise high-density data and power cabling, while helping to maintain orderly airflow through the cabinet. Different separator configurations are available for installations requiring separate routing of data and power cables.

This modular design extends beyond individual cabinets to complete aisle containment systems. The Linkeo corridor solution incorporates sliding tempered-glass doors, polycarbonate roof panels and rear closure modules to create enclosed hot- or cold-aisle configurations that help optimise cooling efficiency within data centre rooms. The system can also interface with external building systems to control door operation when required.

Legrand’s Linkeo Data Center range – which complies with relevant international standards for mechanical structures, environmental performance, mechanical protection and equipment mounting – has been designed for installation flexibility. Cabinets can be equipped with levelling feet, lockable castors, raised-floor support kits, floor fixing kits and anti-tilt bars, depending on site requirements. Side panels are removable and lockable and doors can be specified in either single- or double-opening configurations.

By incorporating server cabinets, cable management, airflow control and modular aisle containment within a single platform, Legrand’s Linkeo Data Center range provides consultants, system integrators and installers with a co-ordinated solution for developing scalable and cost-effective data centre infrastructure solutions that can be configured to meet a wide range of application requirements.

The local Legrand team supports this range with a technical advisory and support service throughout Africa.
