Global food solutions think-tanks visit Zambia

The global leadership of Partners in Food Solutions (PFS), will gather in Zambia next month for a series of meetings, client engagements and stakeholder engagements.

PFS is an independent non-profit organization which has been working to strengthen food security, improve nutrition and economic development across Africa by expanding and increasing the competitiveness of the food processing sector.

Consisting of a consortium of leading global food companies including General Mills, Cargill, Royal DSM, Bühler, The Hershey Company, Ardent Mills and The J.M. Smucker Company, PFS virtually links corporate volunteers from these world-class corporate partners with promising entrepreneurial food companies in twelve African countries, including Zambia.

These volunteers share their best-in-class expertise and time with the African entrepreneurial food companies, providing thousands of hours of support uniquely tailored to the client’s specific business needs. Beneficiaries of this support in Zambia include Comaco, Mushili Beans and Java foods.

PFS high-potential clients saw a median growth rate of 21.9 percent in their revenue and utilized an average of three PFS services in 2021.

October will also see the PFS Board and leadership teams in the United States of America and Africa gather for a series of meetings with ecosystem partners, impact investors, Government, people in the food system and other stakeholders for meaningful and beneficial engagements for the Zambian people. The sessions will also include engagements with potential and existing clients and visits to client operations enabling a fuller appreciation of the clients’ whole value chain.

The PFS 12-member board includes Kojo Amoo-Gottfried – the President of Cocoa and Chocolate – North America of Cargill, Will Bonifant -the Vice President – international supply chain and Manufacturing at The Hershey Company, Dan Dye – the Chief Executive of Ardent Mills, Kofi Bruce the Chief Financial Officer of General Mills and Monica Musonda, the Chief Executive Officer of Java Foods.
